Good Morning, sorry to be late. I’m not dead.
From Mom:
So is this the last week of this transfer?
Yeah, transfers are in exactly a week, transfer calls are on Saturday. I’d say there is an 70% chance I stay in Kushiro because of the way Toma Kaichou has moved stuff around. The branch president has probably also been asking for me to stay for my bread and the senior couple(the Miuras are soooo nice, if anyone saw the painting in the Google photos that’s for them, I took it while in their car) wants me to stay so I can help out with Zone Conference cooking and food prep. I think that’s really funny but who am I to judge why someone would want me to stay. Anyway, we also started a ton of new circles so I Lowkey don’t wanna leave because trusting a set of missionaries you don’t know to a circle that has treated you really well is not my favorite feeling. Last time it was my trainers taking my last area and that felt great because I trust them both as fantastic missionaries.
Think you’re gonna get sent
somewhere new?
I hope not? Honestly I’ll be fine either way but after being in an area for 3, I wouldn’t mind staying for 5. And I don’t think my own rate of dendou has slowed except for the new years season and so I’m contemplating asking Toma Kaichou if I can stay.
Anything we can do for you? Prayer requests - for you or those you are
teaching?
Were starting something in Kushiro(I hope) that anyone in the ward and the missionaries can submit to a list every month, put as much or as little detail as they want and then we give the list to everyone and ask everyone(active and inactive members) to pray about it. Everyone gets an opportunity to feel the spirit, to pray regularly, to pray for others(think more selflessly) and potentially gets to learn about other people in the ward in a meaningful way. I honestly recommend every ward do this(well, if its within limitations, and put no PII). So if that works out, I would appreciate it if you guys could pray for them as well.
Do your siblings all email you?\ No. 私に嫌いですか? (do you hate me?)
From Dad:
How is Kushiro?
It’s cold. Other than that it is just a city that has been going down hill as people leave. But because of the same tactics that japanese people use it is really hard to even get a word in when you arent their in their eyes to help. People also dont have a great view of people who arent working. Like, If I was 22, or past college age, then I should be in the work force. They’ll ask a lot “how are you paying for anything, volunteers dont make money.” Which is hard to answer because no matter how you answer they believe its a waste of money.
What’s your “why” for being a missionary?
You, Zeph, Kez, and my desire to improve my own lifestyle choices is why I became missionary. I’m being a missionary so I can make friends and show them little by little various ways they can improve their lives. And ask them why they aren’t improving their lives.
How can we best support you and your mission work from home?
Problem just whatever is stated above.
What can we help you be accountable to?
I mean, I already get accounted my other missionaries a couple different ways. I’m unsure what you would be accounting me on.
Okay,
Thanks
If you ever go ice fishing, just know that you need to be careful because sometimes the fish are racist. Either that or the natives brought better gear and do it every week and have better technique. But, whichever you believe is what’s best?
