Week 18

Week 18 - 釧路 - we gave out 2 boms

Posted by Tyghe Tripp on Monday, November 10, 2025

Turns out you get arrested when you hand people bombs. But the Japanese people don’t tell you no when you hand them something and insist they take it. So we give them bombs and run. Its kinda fun.

Okay, that was a bad joke. Lately I’ve been telling a lot of bad jokes. Sometimes people ask what goes through my head. I wonder as well.

Anyway. This week’s highlights:
We found this place called Toyonishi which has a bunch of new housing and a bunch of families and I made it our goal to house the whole area this transfer. We’re making some good progress and so far every day we’ve gone weve gotten a new dot or 2 so im not stopping anytime soon.
Zone conference is tomorrow so that’ll be interesting. I’ve watched them plan it and im not super excited about it. 5 of our(kush missionaries) friends came to church last week and hopefully we can start seeing some progress.
We met this grandpa who wants to find a church that has all the good parts and none of the bad parts. He also went to Madagascar for work and talked to us about some not great stuff. He was interesting tho and wants to come to church. He also wants us to teach his grandchildren English. We’ll see how that goes.
We did a district p day and got dinner together. Turns out we went to the wrong location and ended up walking in the rain and snow for 40 minutes. (I was only wearing a white shirt and vest, no sweater or jacket) and that was all just to get an american burger. It was very cold. So very cold.
We had a Thanksgiving party and I got no turkey since I was the last one over there and members eat first. It was sad. There was some good rice stuff tho so it was fine. Too bad coordination doesn’t happen and we get to run another Thanksgiving party again in 2 weeks. Sadly i am a little salty about how the planning worked out. They want me to make like… 14 handmade pizzas for the second party and I’m scared bc I’ve never been the most consistent baker.

Scripture I’ve been thinking about recently: psalm 130
If you didnt know, I really like Psalms.

Stay safe. I wanna see if any of you will actually read and send something: send 1 way you have been making an effort to do service for someone else. Or one thing you plan to do ie. make someone cookies. Text someone an uplifting scripture. Be a friend.

You can almost always fit one more little thing in your schedule and I hope you use that time to bless others.

Sleep well.
