Week 16 - 釧路 - Happy Halloween(kinda)

Okayyyy

Mlem. I suppose meta conversation is cheating isn’t it. I dunno. Its usually unproductive. Okie dokie.

Highlights:
Japan doesn’t celebrate Halloween. But we do! We had so many people come including most of our friends(we had like 10ish friends and 10ish random and 20ish members) it was so much fun. We, as a district, dressed up as care bears and in true Tyghe fashion I was the gloomy bear. It was fantastic.
To kezia: these 2 little girls dressed up as the kpop demon hunter girls and their mother got the fit on point. It was the golden outfit and I thought it was really cool.

Next:
uhhhhhhhhgggghhhghghghgggggg. We had a branch conference so for church this Sunday, the branch doubled. It was so nice to listen to the stake president talk and Yamamoto san came to church again. He hasn’t been getting lessons but he talked to the stake president and told us to start lessons with him. Im very hopeful he could be baptised this year or early next year. His friends and girlfriend are also pretty involved in our events and I think within a year they could all be good members.

Nakamura kyoudai is someone who was baptized at 17 and inactive for 40 years and is now taking lessons. He is a big smoker but he believes in the gospel. Right now his only obstacles are believing he can stop and repent and his work schedule. He really enjoys our lessons and asks questions. I really hope he starts coming to church because he is a very personable guy and I would love to see him at church. He loves the missionaries too.

Shuwa is Japanese sign language. I started learning a little in MTC but not a lot. Turns out that it almost every area there is a Shuwa circle. So I get to learn Shuwa! I can already do Jikou Shoukai(short introduction) in shuwa. New Mexico is the sign for new(fingers together against the cheek and then open your hand and pull away from your cheek) and mexico ( with your hands in the shape of a コ you move your hands along what would be the edge of a nonexistent sombrero. If anyone wants it I can do a short video with my Jikou Shoukai in Shuwa subtitled too. It is lowkey glorified charades. And finger spelling is a nightmare.

Performed I know that my redeemer lives in sacrament at branch conference. They played a cool arrangement but didnt print out the sheets so we had to make up parts… it was hard. But our pianist is so good and it worked out.

To mom: I like vests now. They comfy. I wear 3 of them at a time and I don’t get sweaty but stay warm. Its so nice. I have them in different colors now too. Theyre all only like 500円 each which is like… 3$ so like… yeah. Vests.

愛していますよ(I love yall)

Have a good week. This week’s scripture of the week is: DC 50:17
Listen to the spirit in your life (and get spooky for halloween)

Japanese word of the week:
ハッピーハロウィン(next week it’ll be a real one)
Happi- Harowin
Happy Halloween (but Asian sounding)

Man, sometimes katakana is so nice and other times it sucks.

Love you, love others, see the happy lights.

Ps burgess chourou says: “make like a baby and head out”
(sometime I think he needs a psychologist. It doesnt make sense.)
((For all intensive purposes this is a joke.))
