Lol,

Anyway. That title is wild and he said it not me. But he makes us bike really far and now both of us are sore and hurting. Today we had to bike like…. 5 km which is not a lot and both of us were like. Uggggghhh everything huuuurrrttts. Anyway.

What am I even supposed to say. 09/23 - OK this day was pretty cool. Someone for the first time actually listened and told us we could come back. ほり-さん。 09/24 - Hahahahaha. We went to talk to this inactive member who was baptized 40 or so years ago. Not as fun as one might think. He welcomed us in but he proceeded to talk about politics for 1.5 hours straight and neither me nor Kamachi understood. We nodded for 90 minutes and just eventually was like: were tired from standing we gotta go. The other cool thing we did that day was volunteer at an afterschool kids thing and we basically just talked in english with young kids and helped out. 09/25 - This day we went with the Hatch Senior Couple to a man named Saito and he gave us a bunch of different Japanese things to try like pickled ginger, black garlic, tomato juice. He kept offering us alchohol and coffee being like. Mwahahah I am the devil. A witch. And we talked about the word of wisdom and invited him to some stuff. His wife had been dead for 25 yrs so he had a lot of free time. All his kids were college or farther. He told us to come back and he would gladly tempt us again. Wild but funny. We tried to go back on 10/3 but he wasnt home so well go another day. He is a solid 30 min bike ride out though so not often do we end up down there. 09/26 - normal pros day. Finding and such. Found nobody. In eikaiwa we talked about family history. 09/27 - This day was scuffed. We missed an appt by like 20 minutes because he got back late so Nagai san or 前立腺がん pulled up in the road and pulled a clark kent on us. He is such a cool guy. Anyway. In the morning I finally sat down with a guy named Stephen. He… yeah well…. Hes somehow still breathing for sure. He’s an interesting person with a lot of interesting stories. He doesnt speak any japanese and He is in a lot of pain and pretty… deprecating? About it. He is hard to describe. Typically elders describe him as a fever dream. He isnt super interested in learning about the gospel but we all feel bad for ho. So every 2 to 3 weeks the missionaries meet with him. Unfortunately every time we sit down it is a 2.5 hr affair and you hear half his life story. He was like… a pen dealer in Europe? Sold nice pens? To rich people? And he… had some farms… with lots of rats. He divorced his wife but still lives with her? And she doesnt like him. The only reason they are still together is because he is finishing a lawsuit? Like i said. Fever dream. He also holds no words back. Hes cynical and straightforward. Its a lot. “Fever dream on crack if you did LSD the night before” -Kamachi 09/28 - Church is so long urmargersh. Anyway. We met with Nagai san and that was a whirlwind. He is such a funny guy and such a good watercolor painter. Like. Actually years and years of honed works. He even had an old book of mormon from before his wife ended up in the hospital. But he is still pretty devoutly buddhist. We are slowly teaching him stuff along with English and he has friends. Anyway, he is so much fun to talk to. Once my Nihongo is better and if I ever end up in Asahikawa he is one of the only people id wanna meet up with again. Kamachi still doesnt know how he felt about that teaching though. I think well go back next saturday though. I want to atleast. 09/29 - Last P-day. Oh man. I thought it was slow usually. That day we met with a friend and played card games and talked in a mix of Japanese, Korean, and English for like. 6 hours. It was scuffed. We literally only had time at the end to go shopping and head back. We got knocked out basically as soon as we got home. Long ah day. 09/30 - Meetings Meetings Meetings. We met up with Sunai san and we want to hopefully get him to come to institute but hes always busy. New missionary meetings are like. 2/3 of the time pointless. 10/1 - We go to a thing called BEC. The bad english club. The person running it is Miyaguchi san who has been going to out eikaiwas for like… 40 years or something. Never gotten baptised but he knows every lesson by heart. Dont know whats up with that but hes chill. He invites more people to do lessons with us so its chill. He is a futon seller. But anyway. BEC is some oldish peopke that just tell stories in english to practice. Its pretty fun ngl. Its invite only though so pretty tight group. They like the missionaries though bc were native. But as our senior couples dying wish we are giving everybody in the club BOMs. 10/2 - Meetings. Kids volunteering again. Its fun. 10/3 - Normalest day ever 10/4 - So we had a challenge that Saturday Sunday whichever companionship got the most invitations given wouldnt get ice bucketed. So we spend allllll day finding. 10/5 - Church, and then once again. So much finding. The shimais won this one so both elderships are gettin wet. We tried though but Sunday evening the Shimais pulled another 30 in 2 hours and we couldnt compete so we gave up and went home to eat dinner(we were out of time anyway). We lost by quite a bit. But the other elders didnt even get half of our number. Hmmm. Fun. Im so tired now. Its Sunday night and im very tired. We get to watch general conference througout the week and then in Japanese at the church next week(yay). Todays testimony meeting consisted of members being like: Yeah, i dont understand general conference bc the language they use is weird but still. Its from god so 🙌 nice. It makes me happy and I feel the spirit. And as missionaries were like: nice. 10/6 - So in the evening were getting ice bucketed in full pros. Itll be fun.

QA.
From Dad:\

  • What did you learn in your personal and companionship study this week? Uhhhhhh. Lots. If i focused on any one thing it would be a slow and repetitive week. I guessnif I had to pick something it would be how much more we are supposed to focus on invitations and just as a whole how good contacts are supposed to go.

  • How has finding new people been going?
Fine ig. Its been going for sure.

  • What are the members of your ward like?
If I had to compare to Los Alamos. Old.

  • What’s one fun thing you did with your companion?
    Biked to timbuktoo

Uhhh. Okay. Idk. I had thought of something but i forgot. Japan has a lot of crows. Im in a government office for p day because Kamachi wants to be put into the Japanese system but who knows if it’ll work.

Not sure what to say. Have fun this week. Don’t just live. Do a little of what you like to do.

最近は寒くなりましたね。

バイバイ
闘立扶虎
(One of the brothers in my ward wrote my name like this and said it could be pronounced Torripu Taiga. Im not sure i believe him after doing research but it was nice of him anyway.)

Maybe I’ll write next week’s in japanese. I think i can now. I’ll have to look up vocabulary but for the most part it should work. Oh yeah. Watch general conference too. I guess most of you already have. Ponder, rewatch, be guided by the spirit.
