Suh,
So. No new questions have come in but a couple things I should clarify.
Navigation in Japan is easy when you know where you need to go but finding an actual address is quite difficult. Most of the time they kinda just give you a neighborhood and a name and you have to find them. It usually works out though.
I guess this is when I finally got to the point in my mission where I feel like maybe it’s a story worth sharing though. Until now literally no one has talked to us in home to home contacting besides like… saying no. And other methods accrue similar responses. So anytime I’ve met with people until this week it has been very planned out they know English. I dunno.
The first one I’ll call ぜんりつせんがん-san(Zenritsusengan-san,前立腺がん-san). I didnt pick it. 前立腺がん-san has had a hard life and as the name says he got cancer. I also don’t remember his real name but that’s probably because we forgot to ask. His wife is in the hospital with dementia and he overcame his cancer recently because they… removed his… yeah. Anyway, when we knocked on his door we asked him how he felt joy and he then described to us this whole thing. At first, he actually was just humoring us and wanted to talk to someone since his kids had all left home. But he said come back later. We went back on Saturday when we had exchanges with the APs but I exchanged with Shinno長老 who is a native but is fluent in english. He is such a good missionary. Anyway. 前立腺がん-san is Buddhist but he was kinda just like… that’s just how it’s been. And for the first time, albeit Shinno長老 just like… watched me struggle and helped with translating and explaining. For the most part just let me struggle through but we finally had a contact turn into a lesson. A little rough but I was very happy because he also liked to paint and although he is much better than me he said to come back every week and he’ll teach me a little painting and I’ll teach him a little english and about our church. He was very surprised when we explained to him why we came on missions and similar stuff. I thought it was very cool atleast. Idk ┐(´~`;)┌.
Anyway. Spiritual thought.
Ether 12:36 they talked about this chapter in church. And while I didn’t understand half the lesson and only understood most of it when Pyett姉妹 (Sister) explained it in English my favorite verse was 36:
And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord that he would give unto the Gentiles grace, that they might have charity.
The come follow me for this week talked about Joseph Smith and the hard things they had to go through to get to Salt Lake and all of that. Like i said, I didn’t understand a lot since I’ve only studied it in Japanese so far. But the 2 things I got out of this week were. 1: hardships and blessings go hand in hand because we like nephi are blessed when we go and do what the lord hath commanded but 2: we like Jesus need to pray for everyone. For their wellbeing. For opportunities. For God to give them grace. Because through Jesus we can all be more charitable. Why be against anyone when together we can all be better.
I don’t actually know where I was going with that but like. Practice practice practice. Keep trying. Be diligent.
Thanks 😊
Have a good week.
Sorry to bother.
