Japan Sapporo Mission -- The Frozen Chosen

Week 19

Week 19 - 釧路 - Temple Day

Sup 友達、(friend) I made an UNO card and its this: 好きな相手を選び、選ばれだ相手が山札からプレイヤの人数分の枚数カードを引く。 (Choose an opponent of your choice, and the chosen opponent draws a number of cards from the deck equal to the number of players.) It punishes you more when more players are in and less when there are less. Its a design your own wild card. It also redirects any previously played plus cards. Uhhh. Stuff. Dad questions: How is your new companion?

Week 18

Week 18 - 釧路 - we gave out 2 boms

Turns out you get arrested when you hand people bombs. But the Japanese people don’t tell you no when you hand them something and insist they take it. So we give them bombs and run. Its kinda fun. Okay, that was a bad joke. Lately I’ve been telling a lot of bad jokes. Sometimes people ask what goes through my head. I wonder as well. Anyway. This week’s highlights: We found this place called Toyonishi which has a bunch of new housing and a bunch of families and I made it our goal to house the whole area this transfer.

Week 17

Week 17 - 釧路 - it rained

MINASAN. OHAYOU GOZAIMASU. (Good morning everyone.) Who is your new companion? Ethan Roberts. Where are they from? Ohio. How long have they been on their mission? Ages. I think a year. How many people are in you new ward? Active members are about 30. Inactive is about 300. Is it a ward? Nope, a branch. Do you eat at member’s houses that often? Never. What do they serve? We had a curry luncheon at the church.

Week 16

Week 16 - 釧路 - Happy Halloween(kinda)

Okayyyy Mlem. I suppose meta conversation is cheating isn’t it. I dunno. Its usually unproductive. Okie dokie. Highlights: Japan doesn’t celebrate Halloween. But we do! We had so many people come including most of our friends(we had like 10ish friends and 10ish random and 20ish members) it was so much fun. We, as a district, dressed up as care bears and in true Tyghe fashion I was the gloomy bear. It was fantastic.

Week 15

Week 15 - Kushiro -

Yo. From Mom How is your Japanese coming along? “Pretty good” -ethan “👍” -vincent What’s the biggest thing you learned during your first transfer? Go talk to ppl. From dad How did your transfer go? Good What did you have to do? For what. Often we had to leave early in the morning to be able to get to the train station on-time to use the cheapest tickets for travel. Leaving at 4am was not crazy.
