Japan Sapporo Mission -- The Frozen Chosen

Week 23

Week 23 - 釧路 - 面白いかどか? (Kushiro - Is it interesting or not?)

❄️ Yay. It was too cold and a lot of our friends canceled on us. We had zone conference and I really tried not to fall apart but an 8 hr meeting even with an hour long lunch break is hard on anyone. I baked some brownies and cookies but Its hard to find complicated ingredients or do anything too complicated because everything is by hand. Im not a stand mixer, really, I promise.

Week 22

Week 22 - 釧路 - earthquake

Welp just had another earthquake. Hope we don’t all drown. I guess. Kamachi chourou is gremlin for earthquakes. Bro is in the corner saying “my precious” and is so ready to be evacuated. Fortunately our unfortunately nothing will happen. Except an annoying alarm on all of our phones. From dad: Where do you keep your futons during the day when you are trying to use your space for other things? You can fold it and put it in a closet but if you dont have a closet you can just fold it and stack if you have multiple or set it in a corner.

Week 20/21

Week 20/21 - 釧路 - Kushiro still!

おはよう、こんばんは。(Good morning, good evening) Qs from Dad: How was your Thanksgiving? Good, we had a thanksgiving party with the ward and one with all the missionaries. On my google photos we also made a thankfulness tree and if you had trouble guessing which one mine is its the one in marker. Did you eat lots of Thanksgiving pizza? Actually yeah. I made 4 pizzas and we didnt even have time to eat all 4 before eikaiwa.

Week 19

Week 19 - 釧路 - Temple Day

Sup 友達、(friend) I made an UNO card and its this: 好きな相手を選び、選ばれだ相手が山札からプレイヤの人数分の枚数カードを引く。 (Choose an opponent of your choice, and the chosen opponent draws a number of cards from the deck equal to the number of players.) It punishes you more when more players are in and less when there are less. Its a design your own wild card. It also redirects any previously played plus cards. Uhhh. Stuff. Dad questions: How is your new companion?

Week 18

Week 18 - 釧路 - we gave out 2 boms

Turns out you get arrested when you hand people bombs. But the Japanese people don’t tell you no when you hand them something and insist they take it. So we give them bombs and run. Its kinda fun. Okay, that was a bad joke. Lately I’ve been telling a lot of bad jokes. Sometimes people ask what goes through my head. I wonder as well. Anyway. This week’s highlights: We found this place called Toyonishi which has a bunch of new housing and a bunch of families and I made it our goal to house the whole area this transfer.
